Senior Automation Technician
Skyler Klinginsmith is a Senior Automation Technician for Talos Engineering, where he manages and implements projects using industrial automation hardware and software from a variety of vendors. Since his start at the company in April of 2015, Skyler has worked closely with clients to modify and upgrade existing processes in order to improve performance and meet regulations and requirements.
Throughout his career, Skyler has gained experience designing and building electrical panels, as well as designing, implementing and commissioning PLC logic and HMI modifications. In addition to his years of industry experience, Skyler is Inductive Automation Ignition 7.9 Certified.
Prior to his most recent position at Talos, Skyler started his career working as a member of the electrical and instrumentation team at a beef processing plant in Washington. In this position, Skyler did troubleshooting and support for a variety of packaging, sealing, bagging, and process equipment, as well as the onsite wastewater and biogas facilities. He also designed and built electrical panels for level control, temperature control, and alarming on various systems.
Skyler attended the Perry Technical Institute, where he studied Instrumentation and Industrial Automation Technology and graduated in 2013. During his schooling, Skyler’s activities included mathematics for electronics, solid state, digital devices, applied physics and calculus.
Skyler grew up in the Tri-Cities area before moving to Yakima to attend PTI. Skyler moved back to the Tri-Cities to settle down and get married to his amazing wife. In his free time, Skyler enjoys mountain biking, wake surfing and family time.
