Talos Sponsors Hanford Robotics Club

Talos is proud to announce that we've made a $3,000 donation to the Hanford High School Robotics & Engineering club.  It's our belief that the substantial challenge of designing, building and programming a robot to compete in the FIRST Technical Challenge should not be made more difficult by a struggle for adequate funding.  If you agree, and would like to help, please consider donating to help their cause. You can do so through one of two methods: (1) Donate directly to the Robotics Club account with RSD / Hanford High School:  https://wa-richland-lite.intouchreceipting.com/HHSActivities (Scroll down to "Engineering Club Donations" and enter the amount you wish to donate) or (2) Donate to the club's FIRST Washington Booster Account, maintained by FIRST Washington: https://app.aplos.com/aws/give/FIRSTWashington/TeamDonations (Under "Purpose", select "FTC 8099" which is the club's team number and enter the amount). Also, be sure to check out the group's website and Instagram: https://hanfordrobotics.wixsite.com/hanfordrobotics https://www.instagram.com/hanfordrobotics/

Hanford Robotic Hardware Workshop

A few weeks ago, Talos had the honor of hosting a Hardware Workshop for Hanford High's Robotics & Engineering Club.  Talos donated a goBilda starter kit and Rev Robotics Control & Power Bundle kit to help in the effort, and the students spent the morning building, programming and operating a working First Tech Challenge robot chassis.  Talos's Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Richland made for a perfect venue.  We're looking forward to continued engagement with this talented group of budding engineers. If you're not familiar, the club participates in the FIRST Tech Challenge, where the team designs, builds and programs a robot to compete in the annual game. Participation in the program is expensive, so if you're moved to help, please consider donating to the club.  You can do so through one of two methods: (1) Donate directly to the Robotics Club account with RSD / Hanford High School:  https://wa-richland-lite.intouchreceipting.com/HHSActivities (Scroll[...]

Do you guys do summer internships?

In short, yes.  If you're really interested, though, please read on. We get this question a lot when chatting with college students.  It’s easy to understand why:  Your odds of landing your dream job when you graduate are greatly increased if you have internship experience on your resume.  Unfortunately, as much as we might both wish for a simple answer, we can’t give you one.  Here’s why: At Talos, we don’t subscribe to the conventional notion of a “job opening.”  We’ve found that when we make it our objective to hire a certain number of people for a certain quantity of openings within a specific schedule, we aren’t as selective as we need to be.  We want to hire the very best candidates whenever we meet them, in whatever quantity they might appear.  When we hire top notch people, they do a great job serving our clients and they become[...]

COVID-19 Update

Update: 25 March 2020: We've received several inquiries in the last couple of days regarding our status in light of the Governor's proclamation 20-25 (Stay Home - Stay Healthy).  Because nearly all of our clients are included in the list of "Essential Critical Infrastructure Sectors" which forms the appendix to the proclamation, and because our services are essential to proper continued functioning of the associated equipment and assets, Talos will continue operations as described below in support of these clients.  We do not expect this to change. 16 March 2020: Dear Clients, Partners & Friends, A quick note to keep you informed about the status of our operations during this extraordinarily tough time. First, as always, our first priority is to “work safe.”  For Talos staff, for the coming weeks, this will mean working remotely whenever possible, practicing excellent hygiene, staying home at the first sign of illness, and following[...]
